Home      About Me

My Background

I built my first website in 1998. I’d taken a short course at my local Community College on how to use a computer.

The Web was different then: pagebuilder software and template-driven websites didn't exist. Everything was hand coded.

I worked for several years as a volunteer with GeoCities (before it was bought by Yahoo) in exchange for what was for that day a premium website at no cost to me.

In addition to the site, I receive a first-rate education in web design from some of the finest Masters on the Web--free of charge. I learned and later taught HTML and graphics-making to hundreds of Web newbies so they could make their own sites look terrific.

I built and helped to build over a dozen hand-coded html sites for my GeoCities Neighborhood.

Before I began Professional Website Maintenance, I taught myself the ins and outs of various Pagebuilders, and found I could combine the software’s capabilities with my own HTML knowledge to create the look and feel I wanted. Check out my Clients page to see what I can do with various pagebuilders.
What I Do

I specialize in designing and maintaining websites for small businesses. I take template-based/pagebuilder sites and make them look great! When people become my client, they can expect top-notch personal service, a website they will love and be proud to show their clients, and a helper who is just as excited about the success of their site and their business as they are.

This site is built with pagebuilder software so that you, the prospective customer, can see what I can do within the limitations of your own web host’s pagebuilder.

I pride myself on my work and am very detail-oriented. I create and customize graphics
and photos, spell-check all of your pages, even write or rewrite articles to create content for your site. And, of course, I work with keywords and meta-tags to optimize your site
for the search engines. I can also help you purchase your domain name and find your
first web host.

Being a small business owner myself, I understand the need to keep your costs within a budget. And since I’m “self-taught” (see My Background), I don’t have to stick you with helping to repay the student loan for my fancy IT degree! You will find my fees to be extremely competitive.

Fine Print
Some Pagebuilder software will not allow me to do some things. If there is something you want that your web host’s software does not allow, I will let you know. For example, some software will not allow me to add color to Table borders, or put in a Table background. Some will not allow the use of a music player. I do everything humanly possible to get you everything you want.

I am a website designer, not a programmer. There may be a project that cannot be done with my knowledge or the software I have available.
If this happens, we can discuss outsourcing the project or purchasing the necessary software.
